Sophie 16 weeks

We have had a really busy couple of weeks. I did Race for Life last Saturday with a couple of friends which is a 5k run for Cancer Research UK. It was really exhausting but raised £165.00 for charity so it was worth the pain the next day!

Anthony was in the Hinckley Carnival with the rest of Round Table on the Sunday. They were "the Red Barrows" and they were brilliant! See video below....

We had another milestone week as Sophie learnt how to hop from one foot to the other in her Jumparoo! She's not quite jumping yet but she's on her way! See photos and video below.....

We went to a BBQ at our friends Steve and Laura's house yesterday (Sat) and there were two other babies there for Sophie to play with. Grace is 8 months and Alisha is 5 months old; they all had great fun gurgling and pointing at each other! See photos below....

We have had a really busy time lately and I am shattered; a rest is in order today I think!

Sophie 15 Weeks

I thought I would start a blog to document Sophie's early days as so much happens and I want to be able to share it and remember it in the future!

Sophie had begun to laugh a lot which is so adorable! (see video below)

She is rapidly growing and is now definitely out of 0 -3 month clothes and into 3 - 6 month clothes now. I tried weighing her the other day (by standing on the scales holding her and then weighing myself after) and I think she is 14lb now, which seems amazing as she was only 7lb 6oz when we brought her home, she has doubled in size!

Other things I have noticed this week are that she is wanting to stand a lot. She can't obviously stand by herself yet, but she is wanting to put weight on her legs and giggles whenever you help her to get upright :)

She's also started to pass objects from one hand to the other, she is not always successful and it can take her a few tries to do it but she is definitely getting better hand eye coordination and is very proud of herself whenever she manages to achieve it!

I can't wait to start weaning; she is already very interested in our food and watches with fascination as we eat! I think she thinks its some kind of magic trick! I've started a weaning pack for her with spoons, baby cereal and baby rice in it. I think we'll start weaning when we go and visit mum and dad in July (she'll be 5 and a half months) so that I can get mum's pearls of wisdom and so that if its a disaster its not our kitchen getting splatted, lol!

Right time for a feed so better go,

I will try and do a post every week!
